Peripherals: Scanning Quick Tips

 My old army buddy, Aldo, is experiencing some scanning challenges. he knows the basic steps: place item on scanner window and hit scan; but there are a few more steps to be aware of::

 Once you put the picture on the scanner and hit scan - it actually gives you a preview window with dotted lines around the edge. You have to drag the dotted line to the size of the picture that you are scanning rather than leaving at the default size which is currently scanning the who glass area (even that beyond the target picture.) That way the picture will fill up the whole screen once you hit scan the second time. During the first step or 'preview' stage, you can even take the opportunity to 'crop" the picture if you don't want to scan the whole picture.
